As you found there is no Linux ARM64 version of Chimera and it is very difficult to compile because it compiles not only the Chimera code but dozens of third-party libraries, and many dependencies need to be set up on your computer. It would probably take a week or more of effort to get it compiled if you have a lot of experience compiling code.

All our development effort has been on ChimeraX for several years so we cannot work on a Chimera Linux ARM64 version. We also do not have a ChimeraX version for Linux ARM64. ChimeraX is much easier to compile since we don't compile all the third-party libraries. But it does need precompiled versions of those third-party binaries so it won't be quick and simple for Linux ARM64. We are currently working on macOS ARM64 since most new Mac computers are now using ARM64 CPUs.

For now I think we simply cannot support Linux ARM64 ChimeraX because we have too much work adding new features to the program.
