Hi Eric,

Thanks for your reply.

I have tried version 1.1951 and 1.2199. Both have the same problem in the
following system.

------- problem system -------
The system is
Linux 2.4.20-6smp #1 SMP i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

Memory infor from dmesg:
Memory: 3093676k/3145216k available (1435k kernel code, 46864k reserved,
1070k data, 152k init, 2227648k highmem)

Infor from command free:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 3098200 2465440 632760 0 309720 1579960
-/+ buffers/cache: 575760 2522440
Swap: 2040244 24708 2015536

--------- end of the problem system -------

While we have another system which has less memory, it doesn't have
problem to run chimera.

----------- good system ----------
Linux 2.4.20-18.9smp #1 SMP i686 athlon i386 GNU/Linux

Memory: 2059988k/2097088k available (1455k kernel code, 32488k reserved,
1075k data, 156k init, 1179584k highmem)

Free:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 2064516 1326720 737796 0 424692 455084
-/+ buffers/cache: 446944 1617572
Swap: 2040244 0 2040244

------- end of the good system ------------

If you need more information, please let me know.

Really appreciate your help.
