The only way currently is to use the "Linux 64-bit Off-screen OpenGL" 
daily build of chimera.  It has a software OpenGL backend, so it has the 
graphics information needed for exporting and for saving images, and it is 
always in nogui mode.  Please let me know if the 64-bit Linux limitation 
is a problem for you or not.
