[Chimera-users] Finding the angle between two aromatic rings

Hi Miriam,
Yes, one of the main reasons to create these objects is to enable related measurements.

Choosing any two objects in the table of axes, planes, and centroids (i.e. the Axes/Planes/Centroids dialog) reports their applicable geometric relationships at the bottom of the dialog and in the Reply Log. For two planes, that would be the angle. Choosing is just highlighting their lines in the table with the mouse, or you could do it by selecting the objects in the graphics window. Full details are in the documentation:

<http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/home/meng/docs/ContributedSoftware/structuremeas/structuremeas.html#objectlist>

(In release 1.4.1 this tool is Axes/Planes, whereas in the daily builds it is now Axes/Planes/Centroids. Either way it is in the Structure Analysis category of Tools.)

I hope this helps,
Elaine
