[Chimera-users] Chimera 1.53 64bit and 12-16-2011 alpha both segmentation fault

To get a little more information, run chimera from the command line with 
the --debug flag. Where the segmentation fault occurs will give us a 
clue as to what's going wrong.  That said, the usual cause  is that the 
OpenGL libraries are messed up or missing, i.e., if either glxgears or 
glxinfo segmentation faults, then it's not a chimera problem.

We haven't tested RHEL6 yet, but if it is like RHEL5, then you need to 
have an AMD/ATI or NVidia graphics card in your computer and install the 
associated proprietary driver.  The open-source OpenGL drivers are much 
better than they used to be, but Red Hat does not keep the mesa (OpenGL) 
package current, you have to use the latest Fedora for that, and if you 
Intel graphics, then you really need a current mesa package.
