Hi, Arthur.
Which operating system are you using? If it is on Windows 10, you can
try the following steps:
1. Open File Explorer and select the .py file
2. Right-click on the file and choose "Open With" > "Choose another app"
3. If UCSF Chimera does not show up as one of the options, click on
"More apps"
3a. Scroll to the bottom and click "Look for another app on thie PC".
3b. Navigate to where Chimera is installed and select "chimera.exe" in
the "bin" folder under the main install folder.
4. Select UCSF Chimera as the application for .py files
5. Select "Always use this app to open .py files" (this step sets the
default)
6. Click Okay.
That should set the default .py opener to Chimera so that you can
double-click on .py files next time and not have to go through all this
each time.
Hope that helps.
