Hello,
You can just use command:

select aromatic ring

...same as using menu: Select... Chemistry... functional group... aromatic ring

All of the terminal entries in the Select... Chemistry menu can be used as command-line specifiers, as discussed here:
<https://www.rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimera/docs/UsersGuide/midas/atom_spec.html#builtin>
