Okay, there is a chimerax-announce mailing list now. If you follow the “Contact Us” link off the ChimeraX home page (www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimerax <http://www.cgl.ucsf.edu/chimerax>), there are instructions on how to subscribe.

Consequently it is our plan not just to announce releases on chimerax-announce, but also the availability of major new features in daily builds and/or the Toolshed. In the short term, actual formal builds (alpha2, beta, etc.) will actually not be that infrequent (every several months) since deployment of features via the Toolshed is not completely implemented yet.
