Hello,
Yes, ChimeraX and Chimera are different programs, and Python scripts for Chimera are not expected to work in ChimeraX.
Although I’m not aware of a script for ChimeraX that did all the same stuff as the Chimera one, I believe that in ChimeraX you can still open your original map (that was input to ResMap) and the local-resolution map (output from Resmap), and then color the surface of your original map by the values in the local-resolution map using the command “color sample”:
