[chimerax-users] Relative paths to source files in saved sessions

Hi Christophe,

ChimeraX sessions use a relative path to image data if the session file is in the same directory or a parent directory from where the image data is. So if you save the session in the same directory as the image data or in a parent directory and then copy the containing directory with both session (.cxs) file and images to a new computer then it will open without asking you where the data is.

Another option is you can include the image data in the session file. This can of course make a huge session file. The option to include maps is "includeMaps true"

	save mysession.cxs includeMaps true

I'll make ticket to improve the behavior when ChimeraX does have to ask where the missing file is so that it leaves you in the same directory if you need to replace multiple missing data files instead of always starting in some default directory.

	Tom

However when opening a cxs file on a different computer, I have to manually relocate all the source files every time (in my case tif stacks, and even navigate for each of them from the cxs folder to the source files folder because the folder is reset at every source file selection).
