MacOS Catalina introduces additional security steps into app preparation. These steps are not simple and though we intend to take those steps, we haven’t gotten to them yet. Until those steps are taken, you will get the dialog you saw when you start a new installation of ChimeraX (or Chimera). You can get around the dialog by right-clicking (or control-clicking) on the app icon and choosing “Open” from the resulting popup menu. After doing this once, you don’t have to keep doing it — the app will open normally subsequently.
