[chimerax-users] How to save the ChimeraX startup settings?

Hi Steve,
I'm bothered by the same thing, sometimes. There is a Preference (category: Window) to set a specific *overall* window size, but this size is including the docked tools like the Log and Command Line, not just the graphics window. However, in the Startup category of preferences, you can specify commands to run at startup, and there you could add a "windowsize" command to exactly control the dimensions of the graphics window.

ChimeraX Preferences (Settings) dialog:
<rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/preferences.html>

Running the Startup commands seems to be applied after the Window preference and thus will win out. Maybe the other developers can say as to whether this is always guaranteed?

Also in the Preferences, category: Window is a choice of whether to restore the graphics window size of a session when restoring the session. I personally prefer this to be turned on.

I hope this helps,
Elaine
