Hi Dario,
I inquired about allowing access to ChimeraX source code from our git repository in our weekly developer meetings but sadly no progress to report. Two options are to allow https read-only access from our UCSF git repository or to move the source code to Github. Our plan has been to move to Github for the past year but no time has been devoted to it. We failed to make any progress on it at the last meeting because the people who need to agree were not all present.
A main purpose of ChimeraX is to enable many outside developers to contribute, so it is absurd that the source code is not accessible. I will continue to try to get a decision from the development team and hopefully this can be solved in the next 3 months.

I've asked the people in the lab who manage the git repository, will post when I find out the URL, and I will add it to the docs.
