[chimerax-users] Exporting image in 300 DPI

Hi Fabian!
ChimeraX doesn't assign a dpi value, it just saves the pixel size that you tell it.  My earlier message simply gives an example of how to calculate the pixels that you need, e.g. for 3 inches wide with 300 dpi you would need 900 pixels wide.  As I understand it, from the ChimeraX point of view, only the pixel size matters, and you need to make it large enough to give the final resolution that you want.

Still, if you open the resulting file in some other application like Preview or Photoshop it does not know the dpi and uses some default like 72.  I think you would have to change the dpi or resolution value in that other application.
