[chimerax-users] can isolde work with ChimeraX 1.3 developer versions?

We expect to make the ChimeraX 1.3 release at the end of October of beginning of November.

We are starting the ChimeraX 1.3 release process today by making a code branch on git (so we can keep working on 1.4 features). Next Tuesday (Oct 12) we will make the first release candidate. After two weeks of no serious bugs we will then make an official 1.3 release.

I’ve been waiting for ChimeraX 1.3 to go into pre-release code freeze prior to building and testing a matching ISOLDE release (also I’ve been absolutely buried under other responsibilities until recently). I’m afraid the current ISOLDE won’t work with ChimeraX 1.3 for multiple reasons, mostly to do with changes in libraries it depends on.

I would love to use some of the newest features of ChimX together with Isolde, but the toolshed does not allow this (says only ChimX 1.2 is allowed). Are they really incompatible? Can I perhaps “trick” the toolshed somehow?
