[chimerax-users] Displaying the main chain of residues

Hello Diksha Parwana,
By "without deleting the chain" I guess you meant you want to keep showing the cartoon but also show backbone atoms.

You can show both cartoon and backbone at the same time using the "suppressBackboneDisplay" option set to "false," e.g. command:

cartoon suppress false

That simply enables showing both at the same time, but it does not show the atoms automatically.  In a separate step, you can then show all backbone atoms or only the specific ones that you want.  E.g. command:

show /A:54-102 at N,CA,C,O
style @CA ball
