[chimerax-users] ChimeraX linux binary problems

If the generic linux version does not work, it usually means that some
system library is missing or too new.  Another possibilities are that
you have a buggy graphics driver, like the open-source Nvidia nouveau
one.  Or you're trying to run it on a version of Linux that is too old
-- it must be running Linux kernel 3.11 or newer.

For the system library problems, the solution depends on what the
problem is.  If it is missing, then the system package needs to be
installed.  For example, libGLU.so might be missing, so the mesa-libGLU
package would need to be installed.  If there is a newer version of the
library on the system, it might suffice to create a symbolic link of the
old name to the new name (in the ChimeraX lib directory).  Or you might
need to find an old version of the package to install.

For our next ChimeraX release, we hope to switch to flatpak for the
generic linux version.
