[External Email]

If you use some external process (e.g. not in ChimeraX) to create a file that can be opened in ChimeraX, there are couple more possibilities in this list of "3D object" file formats:

<https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__rbvi.ucsf.edu_chimerax_docs_user_commands_open.html-23object&d=DwIFAg&c=sJ6xIWYx-zLMB3EPkvcnVg&r=IFgzc8_Vdkz-B7UF2uxuBCj87hyWuUEjWI2N297ETz4&m=YOidIiHESrm6bgGHmE-2lI9kSqwCiax24C3sAQV_f0yU7vUK9HGGV_hFU6EeeL--&s=3XBj2v6kUZSx8KeAP59hhqFMUHqsEbO-Mz0pSEBxUuw&e= >

Yet another possibility is to make a PDB file that just contains 8 atoms and CONECT records that draw the appropriate bonds to form a cube. ( A bit of ancient history is that I did something like that >25 years ago to display the location of the DOCK scoring grid!)

Still it may make more sense to use one of the other methods to draw a box. If you are using "shape" it may be easier to use triangles to make the box than rectangles, because the triangle option allows specifying the vertex coordinates whereas the rectangle location has to be specified by its center.
