[chimerax-users] Recall the color code from a previously defined color

Dear Hong,
Firstly there is an "undo" ... so if you just wanted to undo that change, you could try it ("undo" command or use Edit menu Undo). You would need to undo right away, though. If you did several other things after that color change, you would not want to use undo.

<https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/menu.html#edit>

Also, I believe that the color command is echoed in the Log but you would have to scroll up to find it. E.g. even if you didn't use a command to color it, if you used the color square in the Models panel to show the editor and then changed the color that way, the corresponding command should show up in the Log. I don't know how you changed the color, but as far as I know it should generate a command shown in the Log.

I hope this helps,
Elaine

Is there a command/option to retrieve the color codes in the Reply log from previously used in the ChimeraX session? I saved my session when I defined the Grey scale for one of my surface model in the palette GUI… When I clicked on the other structure I want to know what color I previously used, the RGB code changed to grey as well… Would be a way to retrieve the color code in the Log I defined previously?
