[chimerax-users] Saving 300dpi high resolution images with ChimeraX

Hi Nada,
ChimeraX questions should be sent to chimerax-users at cgl.ucsf.edu (CC'd here so you don't need to do anything this time).

ChimeraX does not set the dpi.  You just figure out the number of pixels you need and then save in pixels.  I.e. if you want 3 inches wide at 600 dpi then you know you need 1800 pixel width, e.g.

save myfile.png width 1800

If you open the resulting image file in just about any general image application like Photoshop, Gimp, or Mac Preview (etc.) then you can set the "resolution" or "dpi", but it's really the  number of pixels you save in the first place that matters.
