[chimerax-users] Moving one map in a session while keeping the other/s inactive

Hi Andy,
Yes, it is different in ChimeraX: instead you change the mouse mode (the function assigned to a mouse button or trackpad) to move only the selected or picked model(s). You can click an icon in the Right Mouse tab of the toolbar to assign the corresponding function to the right mouse button (= trackpad + Alt on Windows, trackpad + command key on Mac).

There are mouse modes to move only the clicked model, or move only the selected model. See the Right Mouse help for what the icons look like, and the explanation of how each mode works:
<https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/tools/mousemodes.html>

There is also a "mousemode" command if you want to assign other buttons.
<https://rbvi.ucsf.edu/chimerax/docs/user/commands/ui.html#mousemode>

See also this previous post and links therein:

I hope this helps,
Elaine
